I fell in love with art when I started taking ballet at age 3, and shortly after enrolled in theatre camps, art camps, creative writing courses, ceramics, you name it. I truly could not get enough.

Art was and still is, crucial to my survival. It gives me purpose, joy, community, and points of reflection. I have always found solace in getting my hands dirty and throwing paint onto a canvas is therapeutic for me.

When I got more involved in theatre, my passion for visual art took a backseat, but some extra time at home in 2020 brought me back. Since then, I’ve been working on new pieces, ranging from watercolor, oil pastel, pencil, oil, and mixed media (my favorite).

Just as theatre is nothing without an audience, I believe an art piece is not complete until it can be shared with others, so I created my Instagram account @weezieswork to share what I am working on.

Louise was the July 2022 Featured Artist of the Month at The Gordon Community Art Center presented by PenArts in Pensacola, FL.

You can read more about her process and inspirations here.

Her works "Please Stop" and "pain in the neck" are available for purchase through the Dogwood Gallery in Atlanta, GA.
